The Perfect Blend

June 03, 2022
I recently met up for coffee with a dear friend I hadn’t seen in person since the start of the pandemic. Despite our decided middle-age, we always giggle like teenagers when we get together and manage to feel decades younger after a couple of lattes, a shared dessert and a little gossip.

This got me to thinking how coffee and special moments with people are intertwined. It’s all about spending time with someone, isn’t it? Especially now after two years of social isolation, lingering over a cup of coffee gives us the perfect opportunity to reconnect.

You know, for me Saturday mornings are an excellent example of this. My husband makes coffee in the press; we cozy up on the sofa, steaming mugs in hand and discuss our week. Also, some of my most cherished memories are of sitting at the kitchen table at my elderly neighbor’s house. She would put the percolator on, and we would visit and share funny stories.

Maybe you’re going on a first date and meeting at a coffee house or hanging out with coworkers during 10:00 break. Coffee brings people together. I hope that with your next sip of the aromatic brew you are enjoying the perfect blend of coffee, memories and friendship.
